Richard Beat Your Best 5kay and Win!

We are all missing the races... the excitement, the challenge, 'beating yourself up' on the road to get to that next PB. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 lockdown, we don't expect the racing scene to return anytime soon, but good news is that we have been working on ways to keep you motivated, and to keep you racing. So here's something to get excited about! In partnership with Ultimate Athlete, we are launching the Ultimate Modern Athlete Run Challenge #1, where you need to Run Your Fastest 5km to win!

How Does it Work?

The Challenge will commence on Friday 15th May and run over two weeks, with different rounds working down to the fastest 5km time!

Day 1 - Fri 15 May: Run a Sub-40min 5km
Day 2 - Sat 16 May: Run a Sub-35min 5km
Day3 - Sun 17 May: Run a Sub-30min 5km
-1 week break-
Day 4 - Sat 23 May: Run a Sub-25min 5km
Finale - Sun 24 May: Run a Sub-20min 5km, and the fastest time wins!

In a nutshell, we want you to get your legs turning over at speed again after the long lockdown, so you can build up to the final round with a few easier 5km runs, but take note, you must run all five rounds to be in contention for the final prizes, even if you run much faster than the minimum target times.

What do I win?

1st Man and Woman overall each win R1000 *
2nd Man and Woman overall each win R500 *
3rd Man and Woman overall each win R250 *

* A portion of each entry fee will be added to the money pot for the prizes above, so the more entries, the bigger the prize money!

But wait, there are more prizes up fo grabs!

Both male and female winners in all the age categories will also win a prize, right up to 80-year-olds, so this is not just a challenge for the very fastest of the fast!

But what if I can’t run all the target times in the prelim rounds?

We want to make sure this challenge is as inclusive as possible, so if you cannot run all the times listed above, we still have a competition for you! The #BeatYourBest competition looks at the most improved male and female runner in the challenge period, so you still run all five days, submit your times, and the runners that show the most improvement will be in the running for some amazing prizes! Check the T's & C's to see how it works.
