He was runner up in the Foskor Phalaborwa half marathon this weekend just 24 seconds behind short distance specialist Lucky Mohale in a fast 63 minutes and 56 seconds.
If we use a formula that has prove to be accurate to determine his finishing time in the Olympic marathon we do the following calculations.
1. Deduct 2 minutes from his half marathon time at altitude(Phalaborwa-500 meters above sea level) to get his predicted half marathon time in London at 14 meters above sea level= 61 minutes and 56 seconds
2. Multiply his half marathon time by 2 and add 4 minutes to get his marathon finishing time=2 hours 03 minutes 52 seconds plus 4 minutes= 2 hours 7 minutes 52 seconds.
3. The race in Phalaborwa was run in very bad weather conditions with a strong wind and it was very cold.
4. Coolboy`s predicted time of 2 hours and 8 minutes looks to be 100% on target if everything goes well for this motivated and star athlete of the Nedbank Running Club.
Coolboy, who also won the South African marathon Championships in February this year, qualify for the Olympic marathon in the Valencia marathon in Spain last year November with a time of 2 hours 10 minutes and 43 seconds.
The Nedbank Running Club once again dominated the Foskor half marathon with 5 athletes in the top 10 positions.

Nedbank Running Club Johannesburg spread their wings.
Nedbank Running Club Central Gauteng, under the leadership of Bruce Fordyce, has launched a new branch of Nedbank Running Club Johannesburg at Modder Sports Club, Modderfontein. Affectionately known as Modder, the newly-formed entity has a relaxed and friendly character, making it an ideal ‘home’ for the more social runner. While faster runners are welcome, the bulk of members are social runners with serious goals.
With this in mind, they will host 5 and 8 kilometre Time Trials on a challenging course around the streets of Modderfontein every Wednesday evening, starting at 17:45 year-round. Each weekly Time Trial will be followed by a casual gathering where participating runners can enjoy a few drinks, have a meal and socialize. Modder’s inaugural Time Trial will be held on 1 August 2012, coincident with the unveiling of the newly revamped Modder Sports Club.
Organised training runs, ranging in distance from 7- to 13 kilometres, will leave from the club at 05:00 every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Great support is offered to inexperienced runners in the form of training advice and written training programmes for all distances – from 10 kilometres to the Comrades marathon.
Social events will also be held at the club, ranging from post-race prize-giving ceremonies to pre-event seminars for key races such as Two Oceans and Comrades.
Any runner in South Africa who intends running road races is advised to join a running club. In keeping with its ambition to cater for the broad spectrum of runners, the club fees at Nedbank Running Club Johannesburg are inexpensive; and the membership fee includes a license number. Moreover, runners with Nedbank Running Club Johannesburg membership also have access to the other Nedbank running clubs in South Africa – which means that they’ll feel at home in their trendy green club colours at races across the country.
