Nedbank Running Club Vaal Triangle clubhouse at Kollege Park Primary school (Glanville street) Vanderbilpark

Warm and hearty welcome to all Vanderbijlpark club members in 2024. We hope that you are still healthy as the winter is in full force now. A special welcome to all our new members who joined the winning club from the date of our previous newsletter. We want to wish all of you a great experience and that all of you achieve great performances with Nedbank Running Club Vanderbijlpark. Go Green!!!

Please do not hesitate to contact anyone of the management team with any questions or suggestions you may have. Nedbank Running Club Vanderbijlpark has a performance criterion where we acknowledge all performances of our Athletes, Coaches, Technical staff, and Management. Please note that it is the responsibility of each member of the club to provide us with your results to enable us to acknowledge that. We also have an Incentive Scheme where we award outstanding performances.

Normally Gerda Pretorius handle all club related enquiries as well as all running gear, but she will be away for a while and Salome Naude will handle this in her absence. The contact number for Salome is 083 635 8573. She will be available every Tuesday at the clubhouse from 17:00.

Registration 2024

Registration can be done in the following manner:

Members can register at the clubhouse on Tuesdays from 17:00. Members can also register for 2024 using the following method:

ASA as well as the Nedbank Running Club’s registration forms must be completed.

If you have problems obtaining the forms via the links, you are more than welcome to request these forms from me. Just sent your email address to johanstr2@gmail.com and the forms will gladly be forwarded to you.
Please complete all forms and email it with your proof of payment to the email address of Johan Strydom johanstr2@gmail.com.
The 2024 fees are available on the Nedbank Running Club registration form.
Suggestion from my side is to download the requested forms and complete it before you go to the Club to register. That will save you valuable time.

Time Trials – Harry Marx

A big thank you to Harry Marx who is willing to contribute towards getting members involved in our Time Trials. Harry was appointed as “Road Captain” and he is already making a huge difference regarding the number of athletes attending our Time Trials. We however missing our Junior athletes and want to make a plea to them to join us on a weekly basis.

Club Athlete of the month

Adriaan Coetzee was chosen as the Club Athlete for winning the Gold medal in the B/13 category at the Inter Provincial which was held in Middelburg. Congratulations Adriaan with this deserved acknowledgement

Cross Country – Chairperson Beaulah Valentin

Nedbank athletes again show their worth at the AVT championships which was held on the 3^rd of August 2024. Athletes from our club obtained 8 Gold medals, 7 Silver medals and 3 Bronze medals. Names and medals won will be published in the September ’24 newsletter.

After the championships the AVT team was chosen and 35 athletes of our club will represent the Province at the ASA Cross Country Championships which will be held in Vanderbijlpark on the 7^th of September 2024. Please come and support our local athletes at this event. We know you are going to make us proud. Names and achievements will be published in the September ’24 newsletter.

Here are some pictures taken during the championships. Please note that I received a lot of pictures, but unfortunately we post it in the newsletter or webpage. The reason for this is that the athletes not wearing the correct green attire. Some athletes wear black and blue shorts. We plea to all to wear the correct attire as stated in our Code of Conduct.

We are going to enter teams for the upcoming Lite2Nite relay hosted by Arcelor Mittal in Vanderbijlpark. Please let Harry know on the WhatsApp group if you are interested in participating.

Track & Field – Chairperson Tracey Olivier

Two of our members will accompany RSA athletes who are going to participate in the World u/20 championships in Lima, Peru namely Sabata Kumalo and Tracey Olivier.They have already left with the team on Saturday the 24^th of August 2024.

Please note that Track & Field Leagues will be held during October and November 2024. Normally our Nedbank athletes feature in numbers at these leagues and we are sure that it will be the same in 2024. More information on this in our next newsletter.
