Nedbank Running Club Vaal Triangle clubhouse at Kollege Park Primary school (Glanville street) Vanderbilpark

Warm greetings to all Vanderbijlpark club members. A big and hearty welcome to all new members who are still joining our club and we as management wish you all a winning experience with a winning club in the Vaal Triangle.

Gerda Pretorius will handle all club related enquiries as well as all running gear. Gerda’s contact number is 072 209 9906. She will be available at the clubhouse on Tuesday’s from 17:00.

Registration 2023  

Members can register at the clubhouse on Tuesdays from 17:00.

Time Trials

Please note: From the 3^rd of October ’23 the starting time for our weekly time trials will be on Tuesday’s at 17:30 from the Clubhouse.  

Club Athlete of the month

The Club Athlete for July ’23 was Astrid Fourie with her performances in the 7^th edition of the Giochidel Tricolore in Reggio Emilia from the 24^th to the 30^th of June ’23. She obtained a Gold medal in the Relay, and silver medals in both the 100 and 200 meter races. Well done Astrid with these excellent results.

Cross Country

Herewith results of athletes from Nedbank Running Club Vanderbijlpark who were selected to represent Athletics Vaal Triangle at the ASA Cross Country Championships in Gqeberha on Saturday the 16^th of September ’23. Congratulations to all participants and especially to Christiaan Lewis who obtained a Bronze medal in his age category.

Road Running

Results:

• Lerine Kruger -           3^rd overall -      42.2 Vaal River city marathon.

• 28 October      -           Actom Vaal Mall 32, 21.1, 10, 5

The remaining ASA Road Championships for 2023

• ASA 10km Championships that will take place on the 4^th of November 2023 in Mbombela.

Track & Field

• Track and field league meetings will take place every Saturday from 7 October to 11 November.
• AVT Championships will be held on 18 November 2023.
• The Interprovincial meeting will be held on 2 December ’23 in Johannesburg.

Masters Athletics 2023

Events and important dates:

• SWD Masters Championships Oudtshoorn               21 October 2023
• AFS Masters Championships Bloemfontein              28 October 2023
• Africa Masters Championships Pretoria               16-18 November 2023
• World Masters Athletics Marathon World Champions 21 October 2024
• SA Masters Championships Bloemfontein                 2024

These dates were confirmed by the provinces, but it is subject to change. Athletes to make sure that the dates are correct before making any arrangements for travelling and accommodation etc.
