CLUB NEWS

2023 STARTING WITH A BANG

Time Trials started on 05 January 2023 and growing at a fast pace, be sure to join us every Thursday at 17H30 to run you 4km, 5km, 6km, 8km, or 10km to run or walk as a group.  We meet in at CBC Old Boys Club parking area (behind Virgin Active, Groenkloof)  at 17H15 and walk to the time trial route together to start promptly at 17H30 

NEDBANK RUNNING CLUB SKOSANA RACE 14 JANUARY 2023

We want to thank Enoch Skosana and Jacque Rencontre for their hard work in planning our annual race, it is no easy task planning a race and takes guts, blood, sweat and sometimes tears getting it off the ground.  Thank you to the Club Members that volanteered on the day as well as to Frances van Blerk that assisted on Race number collection the Thursday and Friday.  A big shout out to Tshwane Metro for your assistance on the day, our Marshals and everyone that worked on the race.  We had no incedences on the day and sure everyone that entered enjoyed their spoils once they finished from Assupol who sponsored the medals and all our sponsors that provided give aways ie Biogen, Bavaria, Thirsti Water and Futurelife.  We also receive great goody bags from our sponsors to give to the winners of the Mile, Walkers and 1st place prize winners.

AGM MEETING 2023

Thank you to those that took the time to send their nomination and Proxy forms.  We had 21 Members attending and we sereve snacks and drinks.  The 2023 Comittee were nominated and congratulations to the 2023 Members that again were nominated into the Committee.  Thank you to the 2022 Committee for your hard work and dedication.

WONDERPARK AKASIA MARATHON SATURDAY 28 JANUARY 2023

We hosted our 1st race for Club Members all over SA to join us after their race to enjoy @ThirstiWater, @Biogen Electrolite fizzy, @Bavaria drink, Cooldrinks, Coffe & Tea, a banana, muffins and pancakes.

The gazibo was buzzing with our Nedbank Running Club athletes and everyone shared their race performance as well as chilling and sharing their experience of their race.  It was a very hot day but proud of everyone that finishe as well as the great performance and podium placings.  WELL DONE EVERYONE #MoreThanAClub

Nedbank News

Good luck to everyone preparing for the @NedbankRunified50km race that is taking place on Sunday 26 February 2023 in Gqebrha, be sure to chune in or live stream the race.  It will be an epic race again with another World Record on the horizon.  Good Luck to Nick Bester and Team that is working hard in making this a great success once again and to all our Sponsors for your assistance.
 
Looking Ahead

RENEWAL OF YOUR 2023 MEMBERSHIP

You are still able to renew your Membership for 2023.  To those members that have not renewed their Membership yet, please remember that this can be done by sending an email to nbrunning.pta@gmail.com and we will send you all the necessary documents and our Club Banking details.  Once we receive the 2023 Licenses, you can then collect your 2023 License at our Thursday Time Trials or if you opt to have it Couriered, we can assist with this at a cost of R109 to your closest Post Net Branch.  Communication will be sent out and posted on all our Social Media pages once we receive the 2023 licenses from AGN.  Your 2022 license is still valid till end of February 2023.

We want to thank all our Members that supported us during 2022 by renewing your Membership.  We are truly blessed that we have such great Sponsors and awesome support from Nedbank Running Club National.  Thank you Nick Bester for your vision and always being there to support us. Thank you Adriaan Cronje for all your assitance as well and all your assistance.

Keep up your training and hope that those that entered in Two Oceans- and Comrades Marathon is working hard on your training schedule.  Good luck everyone with your training and please be safe on the roads, run in groups, do not run with your cell phones visibale or headphones on and be vigilant on the roads.  Your safety is important!

2022 ROAD RACES, TRACK & FIELD EVENTS & CROSS COUNTRY

After COVID it was a difficult year to start up again for everyone but we are proud of everyone that kept up their training and participating in races.  It is always heart warming to see the sea of GREEN at races and other events as well as the podium winners and positions placings in all age catogaries.  2023 will be an even greater year for everyone, keep up with your training and participation in races.  Support smaller Club races as this will ensure that they do not fall off the bus and can keep giving athletes the opportunity to participate in road running.
