27 January 2021
All Nedbank Running Club Central Gauteng Club Members
Wishing all members, their families, as well as the whole of South Africa a prosperous and productive 2021.
We do appear to be in for another uncertain first quarter of the year, at least with most of the races for January & February cancelled as per the Race Calendar published by CGA.
Considering the latest published Regulations, under the revised level 3 Lockdown NRC CG commenced with official Time Trials (TTs) from Tuesday 19 January in Modderfontein and Wednesday 20 January in Sandton. The TTs will be held under strict COVID 19 protocols so please respect and comply with these when attending. Due to social distancing requirements we will also offer the same runs to be done virtually (refer details below).
The club is also putting together a monthly running calendar, with some challenges to look out for, just to keep us all on our toes.
Training for Comrades and any other Ultra marathons later in the year will continue as usual, noting the uncertainty, but wouldn’t you rather be prepared? All (Novice) Ultra runners should be on the lookout for specific segments.
Although the year will be a challenging one, we are confident that it will still deliver some great running memories, personal growth and achievements, both personally and as a club.
Let’s make it special by working together, by respecting each other and building a club we are all proud of.
IMPORTANCE OF RENEWAL OF 2021 ASA LICENCE
We would also like to highlight the importance of having a Licence to all our members:
Even in this time where we do not know what is going to happen, Nedbank Running Club National, our Sponsors and all the Club Committees are trying their best to keep our Clubs strong and constantly come up with new ideas and ways to keep us going.
