The Nedbank Running Club delivered a set of solid performances this past weekend. Runners really shined with top podium spots, clean podium sweeps in some races, while showcasing the Green Team’s strong veteran team.
Westrand Half Marathon – Full Podium Sweep:
The green team showed dominance at the Westrand Half Marathon, claiming not only the podium, the mens team took all six top spots. While in the women’s race we claimed one podium spot securing third.

- Namakoe Nkhasi – 1:07:13
- Kabelo Melamu – 1:07:18
- Elliot Kupa – 1:07:24
- Boaz Kiptarit Kasar – 1:13:04
- Albert Kangor – 1:14:45 (1st veteran)
In the women’s race, Tebogo Mokgosinyana finished in 3rd place in a time of 1:27:18 - securing a spot on the women’s podium too!
Tshwane North Ultra
In the capital city, Nedbank athletes made their presence felt in the Tshwane North Ultra. Jeannie Henderson claimed fourth spot overall and a first in her category 40-49 in the Ultra Marathon in a time of 04:00:40.
In the half marathon, Elizabeth Chemweno claimed 2nd place overall in the women’s half marathon race in 01:28:39 and was also 1st in the veteran category. Rebecca Nakuwa was 5th overall and 3rd in the veteran category running a 1:38:05. Dalene Sonnakus came 8th overall claiming 1st in her category 50-59 in a time of 01:46:47.
Charles Soza ran the 10km race and he placed 9th overall in a time of 33:41.
Lesedi Easter 21.1km
At the Lesedi Easter 21.1km, Sifiso Nqumakhwe earned 2nd spot on the podium, clocking 1:12:15.
Kasi 10km
In the Kasi 10k, Isaac Moshia produced a great performance to take 1st place in a time of 31:03.
From full podium lockouts to veteran category wins and fast finishes, it was another strong showing from the Green Dream Team. Congratulations to all our athletes who continue to represent the club with pride.
