The Nedbank Bloemfontein Achilles Running Club Management came up with a great initiative to spice up the very popular Webbers Attorney’s and Vic Theron Spring Run 10 km Road Race on 28 September even more. 

The 10 km will start at 07h00 and the entry fee is R45,00 per athlete. The popular EXPO at the Bloem-Achilles Sports Centre in Att Horak Street will be running from Friday to the Saturday, as well. There will, as usual be no restrictions as far as the number of participants for the race is concerned.

THEN: A first for the club will be staged at 09h30, i.e. 4 x 1km relay. The aim of this event is FUN, FUN, FUN and there are no restrictions as far as the makeup of teams are concerned. Any combinations as far as age, gender, schools, clubs, etcetera, are acceptable.

Companies can, for example form their own teams and challenge other companies for the event. Even athletes who completed the 10 km race beforehand are welcome to form teams or join other teams. The cost per team is a mere R20,00 which means each member of the team will have to pay R5,00 only to take part.

However, there is a restriction on the number of participating teams. Only 50 teams will be allowed to enter and entries will be handled on a first come first serve basis.

The festivities don’t end with the relay. There will also be a “POTJIEKOS” competition and a great prize (to be announced later) is at stake for the winning “POT”.

Live music, entertainment and karaoke are on the agenda and will be provided by the well known “Sing Bliksems Sing”.  Plenty free give away prizes and lucky draws are at stake and a cash bar, as well as promos will be available.

There will be more than enough for the young ones to do on the day such as Jumping Castles. For the not so faint hearted – there will be the well known ELECTRIC BULL, if you consider yourself a daredevil.
