Nedbank Running Club just cleaned up the number one positions countrywide.

This past weekend was yet another successful one for the Nedbank Running Club which achieved the following race wins across the country:

Nedbank Running Club Soweto star Zongamele Dyubeni won the Deloite Pretoria marathon in 2 hours 25 minutes and 3 seconds followed by his Nedbank Gauteng North team mate Shadrack Hoff in second position.

The Veterans title went to Sipho Ncube from Nedbank RC in Gauteng North in a credible 2 hours 43 minutes and 03 seconds.

The Grandmasters winner for the marathon was Daniel Hlongwane from Nedbank RC in Gauteng North in a time of 3hours 29minutes and 26seconds.

Nedbank Running Club Soweto runner, Xolisa Tyali won the 21km. event in 66 minutes and 20 seconds followed by Nedbank Gauteng North athlete Luwis Msunda.

Nedbank Running Club Soweto athlete and Olympic prospect, Rene Kalmer won the woman’s 21 kilometre race in 78 minutes and one second with Nedbank Gauteng North athlete Rutenda Nyahora second.

The 10 kilometre masters trophy went to John Grundy from Nedbank Running Club in 46:05

The Stellenbosch Gino 10 kilometre night race was won by Nkosinathi Madyo in 29 minutes and 25 seconds and new Nedbank Boland member Jen Brummer clocked a personal best of 30 minutes and 35 seconds.

The annual Buffs marathon was won by Port Elizabeth Nedbank runner Zingisile Marikeni with a time of 2.28.06 and short on his hills in second position was Nedbank team mate Anele Malisa in 2.31.41

The Nedbank Running Club in Soweto produced the winner of the township15 kilometre race in Eldorado Park when   Vuyisile Tshoba crossed the line first.

The Oudtshoorn Cango Caves marathon was won by Candyce Hall of the Nedbank Running Club in Cape Town. Candyce Hall (photo below) received her tracksuit, tog bag & award for being Member of the Month January/February 2012 for the Nedbank RC in Cape Town. Since joining Nedbank Running Club, Cape Town in October 2011, she has been on the podium more than 10 times over the past 3 months and to top her award, she was the first woman to cross the line at the Cango Marathon on Saturday, the 25th of February 2012, finishing with a personal best time of 2:55:56

The Nedbank Port Elizabeth club got their fare share of race winners with the 22 year old Deliwe Nyanga who won the Cassies 15 kilometer race in a time of 59 minutes. George Ntshiliza was second in the men’s race with his time of 46 minutes and 53 seconds.

George Ntshiliza was also crowned Athlete of the year for Nedbank RC P.E.


The 10 Kilometre race at the Rio Casino marathon in Klerksdorp 10km was won by Nedbank Running Club Central North West`s David Manja in a fast 29 minutes and 28 seconds with Collins Mabu  in third position.

The  Women`s race was won by team mate Luleka Dyonki in 40 minutes and 07seconds and she was also the  first junior 

Joel Mmone ran an outstanding 21 kilometre race to win in 65 minutes and13 seconds with Green Dream Team athlete David Ngakane second in 69 minutes and 02 seconds. The podium was completed with Nedbank Team mate Richard Dikalabua third in 70 minutes and 16 seconds. In the woman’s 21 kilometre Elizabeth Moeti from Nedbank RC Central North West was second.

John Birgen from Nedbank Running Club in Durban finished second in the Maritzburg marathon in a time of 2 hours and 26 minutes.
