Club Vest
All new members will receive a free club vest when they join the club. Members who have an old vest must exchange the old vest for a new free vest when they re-join the club.
Vests will be available at the club house on Tuesdays from 17h00 to 18h00.

2019 AVT CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2019 AVT Championships will take place on the following dates:
- 10 km: Vaal River City Marathon on 1 September 2019. (Timing Chip compulsory!!!!)
- 21.1 km : Polifilm Race on 26 October 2019
- 42.2 km : No Championships due to lack of suitable races in second half of the year.

2019 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2019 National Championships will take place on the following dates:
1) 21.1 km : 27 July 2019 in Port Elizabeth
2) 42.2 km : 15 September 2019 in Capetown
3) 10 km : 28 September 2019 in Middelburg
To ensure that the athletes can timeously prepare for these events, it is important to convey to them the following:
Qualifying:
For 42.2km: Times achieved in marathons run in the period February to July 2019
For 21.1km: Times achieved in half –marathons ran between March and May 3019
For 10km : Times achieved in the 10km race at the Vaal River City marathon on
1 September 2019. (Timing Chip compulsory!!!!)
It will be athletes’- and clubs’ reponsibility to ensure that the selected athletes keep themselves at the top fitness level required to participate with success in the Championships.
The following revised qualifying times have been set by AVT so that the Province can be represented at the Championships with distinction.

News from Athletics Vaal Triangle (AVT)

Peter Mothubi
Peter started his running career in 2007. He is under the top 10 finishers in various races and won various marathons with a personal best time of 2:17.
Some of his achievements includes:
2007: Long Tom 56km: Mens Open, 2nd place: 3:31.
2008: Two Oceans: MensOpen, 7th place: 3:16.
2010: Comrades: Mens Open, 10th place; 5:49.
2011: Two Oceans: Mens Open, 9th place: 3:11
2011: Om die dam Ultra Marathon: Mens Open, 3rd place 2:53
2019 Om die dam Ultra Marathon: Mens Open, 3rd place 2:56
Joseph Dzuvha
Jackie Gibson Half Marathon: 21,1km: 1st Grandmaster – 1:42.

Results are available at http://www.nedbankrunningclub.co.za. Click on Results, Time Trials, Vanderbijlpark AVT (at the bottom of the page).
Join us on Tuesdays from 15:00. Time trials start at 17:30 (17:15 during winter). Enjoy the company of other club members and enjoy something to drink afterwards.
