Nedbank Bloem Achilles Running Club
Dear Nedbank Running Club Bloem Achilles members.

We believe that you will have a special AGM tomorrow – Wednesday 26 August 2015 at the Nedbank Bloem Achilles running club and we sense that one of the items on the agenda will be about the letter that we received from the Chairman MR. Gordon Van Wyk dated 29 July where he informed us of the following

” Hereby we at Bloemfontein Achilles would like to inform you that we were approached by our members and it was requested to return back to our own identity We as committee had a meeting on 23 July 2015, and it was agreed upon all attending the meeting that we are all in agreement to move from the Nedbank Running Club Group, and to host and compete from 1 January 2016 as Bloemfontein Achilles.”

See detailed letter below.

We just want to make sure all the running club members get the correct information from our side.

1. We sponsor 12 Nedbank Running club`s in South Africa of which Nedbank Bloem Achilles is one of them.

2. We have R90 000-00 available for each club every year payable in 3 payments but we need the clubs to run the club on a professional manner and we require them to adhere to 30 basic points of administration of which they get R1000 -00 X 30=R30 000-00 3 TIMES PER YEAR.

3. The Nedbank Bloem Achilles club under the management of Mr Van Wyk performed very poor the past 3 years and were always at the bottom of the score sheet hence the minimal amount of sponsorship paid to you.-see full score sheet of all the clubs attached. Click here for the Score Sheet

4. On top of the cash sponsorship amount to each club your athletes can also claim incentives for good performances in road races, your dev. athletes get sponsored products like NIKE Shoes, free kit, and supplements and your social athletes can visit our national hospitality sites at all the major races across the country including Comrades, Two Oceans, Om Die Dam, Loskop, etc.

5. There are also other benefits like subsidised membership fees, high quality running attire, sponsors attendance at social functions etc.

6. Communication from the current committee was none existing throughout the year.

7. Whatever decision you take we will accept this but it’s very difficult to understand in this tough financial circumstances that a running club in South Africa will turn such a national sponsor down or instead try to resolve the problems arise via the correct communication channels.
