This week at NRC BOLAND (01 March 2011)
March 1, 2011
Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all surviving this heat! Well done to everyone who participated in last week's Gino's 10km and 5km Fun Run in Stellenbosch! The conditions were perfect for running and it was great to see so many new faces wearing green at the race! Nkosinathi Madyo, from the Nedbank WP club was second in a fast 29min35s!

There is another very popular night race tomorrow (2nd March), the Men's Health Lighthouse 10km, which goes along the Seapoint Promenade. The course is fast and flat, with awesome views of the ocean. There is usually a very large field and traffic and parking can be a problem so try to get there early if you plan to run! The race starts at 18:15, you can register at the start (the Mouille Point Lighthouse) from 16:45. We will have the club gazebo up so join us for some refreshments after the race! As a result of the race, there will be no time trial in Stellenbosch this week, but join us again next Wednesday!

Races this weekend include the Century City 10km and the Swartland 10 and 21km in Morreesburg, both on Saturday 05 March. On Sunday 6 March, Cape Town is hosting the African Cross Country Champs at Keurboom Park, Rondebosch. Nedbank WP will be assisting on the day by hosting a country's athletes... if you would like to come along and be involved, please let me know! This is the first time SA has hosted an international athletics competition since 1998 and it promises to be a great event to watch with national teams from around the continent of Africa participating!

Happy Running and hope to see many of you at tomorrow evening's race!

Regards,
Nicky
