We as management and club members want to convey our deepest and sincere condolences to his wife Sonja, his children, grand children, family and friends. Sonja you will always be part of our club as we know that you contributed a lot to the club with Dawid.

Dawid was born on the 15th of June 1954 and was a professor at the North West University. He joined the club in January 2002 and was elected to management in July 2002 where he served on the management team till the end. Dawid was the chairman of the club from March 2005 and he served in that capacity till February 2015. He was a respected leader with great knowledge and a big asset to our club.

He completed three comrades’ marathons and was the organizer of the annual Oujaar races hosted by our club. He was also involved in the management team who present the annual Lite2Nite relay races which is organized by Arcelor Mittal and Nedbank. He was also involved in our weekly time trials and was responsible for our newsletter for a very long time.

We will miss his expertise in management meetings, his great sense of humor and I will miss him sitting next to me in meetings. We as club and running family in the Vaal Triangle lost a great leader, member and most of all a great friend. Rest in peace Dawid and we salute you and you will always be remembered by us and will always be in our hearts.
