A bit more of a quiet weekend on the running calendar, but nevertheless still some sterling performances from the athletes from the Nedbank Running Clubs countrywide.
The evergreen Ntombesintu Mfunzi (NRC) put in another great performance at the Aspen Pharmacare 10 km held in Port Elizabeth. Mfunzi raced to a 37:10 first place finish. She was joined by teammates Melikhaya Kepe, George Ntshiliza and Gift Chigomarawa who all ran around the 2:30 marathon time.
The Nedbank flag flew high at the Lesotho High Altitude Marathon, known as one of the toughest marathons. Lebenya Nkoka and Ramolefi Motsieloa finished first and second respectively while Mamorallo Tjoka and Thato Sesheme did it for the ladies by finishing first and third respectively. In the half marathon of the same event the NRC had another two podium placings.
Talk about just seeing green on the podium!
