This is what awaited Team South Africa when they competed at the 2015 Southern Region Half Marathon Championships. And it told in the results. With a winning time of 1:20.22 for the men and 1:40.37 for the women it is clear this was no ordinary championship race.

Whilst not winning the individual titles, nevertheless the Nedbank Running Club made a massive contribution to Team South Africa bringing back the Team Title.

Athletics South Africa selected a team that contained Chabeli Nyedimane and Thabang Mosiako from the Nedbank Running Club, Klerksdorp and Philemon Mathipa and Andronica Mokgotla from the Nedbank Running Club in Soweto as well as Bulelwa Simae from Nedbank Running Club WP.

Surprisingly enough it was the Cape Town based Bulelwa who fared the best with a fourth place finish in the women’s race. Andronica Mokgotla was 7th whilst Thabang Masiako was best in the men’s race. Masiako was 5th. Chabeli Nyedima was 8th and Philimon Mathipa 10th overall.
