The Nedbank Green Dream team defended both the male and female titles yesterday-Sunday 13 July -at the KAYA FM Mandela relay races at Waterfall park.

The Nedbank Green Dream team defended both the male and female titles yesterday-Sunday 13 July -at the KAYA FM Mandela relay races at Waterfall park.

The relay event that attracted close to 18 000 runners was run on a 6,7km. Circular route around the Waterfall estate. This hilly course was no match for the Nedbank Green Dream Team athletes as the Elite men won their relay in a time of 1 hour 51 minutes and 54 seconds and the Elite woman`s team in 2 hours 27 minutes and 05 seconds.

 

We are very proud of our Nedbank Running Club Soweto Development team who was second overall behind the Elite team with a mere 62 seconds. We can clearly see that Siyaya Khoza is doing a great job with the youngsters. The Elite woman`s team consist out of 5 young girls from the Nedbank Soweto Running club.

The Nedbank Comrades winner’s team consisting out of Claude Moshiywa, Ludwick Mammobola, Bruce Fordyce, Franciss Van Blerk and Nick Bester was also taking part in the relay event and help to present the trophies to the winning teams.

There were also another 10 Nedbank teams that took part yesterday in the relay event with Sponsorships Manager Patrick Baransky heading up the Nedbank CGA Running club team and he did 4 of the 7km. loops in training for his next marathon in Spain.
